Introduction to
Mary Magdalene and The Holy Grail

Brother Nazariah, High Priest

The true account of Mary Magdalene and the Holy Grail is told within the ‘New Testament?(Holy Godspell) portion of The Holy Megillah. The following supplemental material serves as useful background information to that account and consists of two parts. Part One, titled The Interview on Mary Magdalene, is as excerpt of an interview of our High Priest, Day, on the subject of the Magdalene. Part Two, titled Excerpt from Article on Mary Magdalene and the Holy Grail, is a portion of an article by Day on that topic.

Part One: The Interview on the Magdalene

(Day was interviewed by a magazine)

Q) The phenomenal success of The DaVinci Code has generated great interest in Mary Magdalene. You and the church you represent were teaching similar things about the Magdalene and her relationship with Jesus many years before that book was written. As a long time researcher on the Magdalene, how do you feel about her sudden popularity?

A) I am thrilled! She was the cover story for Newsweek. ABC news did a special report on her. And the movie version of The DaVinci Code was well received by audiences to the consternation of the critics. Clearly, her time has come! The ancient prophecies make clear that her time to be rediscovered ?and truly understood ?would come, and I believe we have entered that era.

Q) You have been a serious researcher of Mary Magdalene for nearly 30 years. How did that happen? What got you interested in her?

A) As a small child she appeared to me in dreams and visions. Although she was barely mentioned in the Bible, she was my favorite character! Then, when I was seventeen I met an elderly Essene teacher from Alexandria, Egypt. His name was Malachi. He had come to America to establish a branch of the ancient Essene Order that he represented. This Essene Order has a lineage that goes back to before the writing of the Bible. I helped Malachi establish an Essene monastic community in the mountains east of San Diego. I studied with him for seven years. Upon graduation from his Mystery School he gave me several assignments. One of those assignments was to research and publish lost information on Mary Magdalene.

Q) I know that Malachi provided you with various Aramaic and Hebrew Essene scrolls that had not previously been published in English. You have been involved in the translation and publication of those scrolls. Do those scrolls include any previously unknown information on Mary Magdalene?

A) Absolutely! In fact, there is more information on the Magdalene in these scrolls than in the Bible. Best of all, there are many sayings of the Magdalene. In no other source ?including the Bible ?are there more than a few sayings of Mary Magdalene. Most significantly, these scrolls describe the Magdalene as not simply a follower of Jesus, but as his eternal consort and co-Messiah.

Q) That sounds like heresy! Are you suggesting that Mary Magdalene was the equal of Jesus? What do you mean by the term ‘Co-Messiah?

A) She was absolutely the equal of Jesus! In the newly translated scrolls, she is called The Lady Christ and Jesus ?whose real name was Yahshua ?is called The Lord Christ. They traveled together and she was co-teacher with Jesus. Of course, that did not sit well with most of the population back then, as the era was extremely patriarchal. In fact, in Israel at that time, women were not permitted to enter the priesthood. The only exception was the Nasarean Order of Essenes, which did include women in the priesthood and affirmed both a God and Goddess.

Q) The Dead Sea Scrolls do not mention that the Essenes had Priestesses. In fact, some of the Dead Sea Scrolls are as patriarchal as the Bible. If the Essenes believed in a Goddess and had Priestesses, why is that not mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls?

A) That is because almost none of the published Dead Sea Scrolls were written by the Essenes. In fact, the word Essene does not appear in any of those scrolls. When those scrolls were first discovered in 1947, scholars thought they were the lost library of the Essenes. That theory was based solely on the fact that three ancient writers had described an Essene sect that lived on the western shore of the Dead Sea. So, when those scrolls were discovered in caves on the western shore of the Dead Sea, it was theorized that they may have been authored by the Essenes. But that has proven to not be the case. Not only do none of those scrolls ever mention the Essenes, but the location they were discovered is not even the region that the ancient writers linked to the Essenes. The ancient writers said the Essenes lived in cliffs above En Geddi on the western shore of the Dead Sea. The Qumran location where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found is not the cliffs above En Geddi. Several years ago the remains of a communal settlement was discovered in the cliffs above En Geddi. That was the Essene settlement at the Dead Sea, not Qumran. So, the patriarchal Dead Sea Scrolls are no longer believed to have been authored by the Essenes. Our church does not use the Dead Sea Scrolls. We use other scrolls that do in fact uphold worship of both God and Goddess, and do present the Essenes as having both Priests and Priestesses.

Q) History informs us that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. You assert that she was a feminine ‘co-Christ?with Jesus and that she was his equal. How could a prostitute ?even a reformed prostitute ?be viewed as a feminine Christ?

A) Actually, history does not inform us that the Magdalene was a prostitute. That is simply a Catholic legend that has been discredited. Nowhere in the New Testament does it ever say that Mary Magdalene had been a prostitute. An early Catholic pope confused Mary Magdalene with another New Testament woman who was a reformed prostitute, and that became Catholic belief. But you will not find it in the New Testament. In fact, Catholic scholars now admit that this Pope made an error. The New Testament does say that Jesus cast seven demons out of her. But our scrolls say Jesus cast seven demons off Mary Magdalene, not out of her. That one word makes a big difference! In our Essene New Testament, seven demon-possessed men had jumped Mary Magdalene, with the intention of raping her. Jesus came to her defense, throwing the men off her. It is also important to note that the Hebrew word by which the Essenes designated their Priestesses was Kedushah, which literally means feminine holiness, or holy woman. While the Nasarean sect of Essenes permitted women in the Priesthood, mainstream Judaism did not and condemned the Essenes for this practice. Thus, in mainstream Judaism, the term Kedushah became a negative slur, meaning harlot, the idea being that any woman who entered the priesthood was a no good harlot. In Strong’s Concordance to the Bible, both meanings are given for the Hebrew word Kedushah: 1) Holy Female Devotee; 2) Harlot. Thus, we see where the confusion in regard to Mary Magdalene came from. Her title as an Essene Priestess ?Kedushah ?became a negative slur meaning harlot, simply because mainstream Judaism thought it was terrible for women to enter the Priesthood. Simply put, Mary Magdalene was never a prostitute!

Q) Your Essene scrolls portray Mary Magdalene as a feminine co-Christ with Jesus, and indicate that she was the victim of the patriarchal, anti-feminine bias of that era. Besides your Essene scrolls, can you document from other sources that Mary Magdalene was an exalted feminine guru who was persecuted by patriarchal men?

A) Yes, absolutely! By no means do I limit myself to Essene scrolls to support my assertions. There are many ancient manuscripts that support my theories. I will give some examples. In the Gnostic Gospel of Philip, we read: “As for Sophia [Greek for ‘Holy Wisdom?’Holy Spirit’], she is the Mother of the Angels and the Consort of the Lord, Mary Magdalene. The Lord loved her more than all the others and used to kiss her often on her lips.?/i> The same text then reports that someone asked Jesus about his relationship with the Magdalene. Jesus replied: “Great is the Mystery of Marriage; for without it the world would not exist.?The Greek word that is translated into English as Consort implies a romantic partnership and is often translated as Wife. In regard to my assertion that the Magdalene was persecuted by patriarchal males, consider the following excerpt from the Gnostic Gospel of Mary Magdalene, only a couple of pages of which has survived. The setting for this excerpt is as follows. It is shortly after the crucifixion of Jesus, and the Magdalene, his true successor, has just delivered a mystical discourse to the assembled disciples. Then Peter, speaking on behalf of the majority of male disciples, declares: “Are we to believe that she knows more about spiritual things than we do? Are we to believe that the Lord commissioned a woman to take forth his mysteries unto the world? Are we now to turn to her and listen to her as we did the Lord? Did he really prefer her for that role over us??/i> I could give many other examples that illustrate the fact that various ancient manuscripts support the theory that the Magdalene was a feminine Christ-figure, and that she was persecuted by patriarchal males.

Q) The DaVinci Code portrays Mary Magdalene as the wife of Jesus. Do you agree with that? If so, where do you part company with The DaVinci Code? Or do you agree with all of it?

A) Yes, Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married. In the Essene scrolls, Jesus and Mary Magdalene are the couple that were wedded at Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine. In his book, Bloodline of the Holy Grail, Laurence Gardner provides convincing evidence that the Catholic Church later deleted all references to Jesus?marriage to the Magdalene. One of the points he makes is that it was the Hebrew custom in Bible times that the Groom provide the wine for the wedding. He correctly points out that in the New Testament story about the wedding at Cana, the people expected Jesus to provide the abundance of wine, which demonstrates that he was the Groom. When the Bible was edited to delete all references to the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, they missed that little detail. That is the ‘smoking gun? So, we do agree with The DaVinci Code portrayal of Jesus and the Magdalene as being married. However, we don’t agree with everything in the book. For example, in its effort to rediscover the historical Jesus, the book attempts to strip him of his divinity. There we part company with The DaVinci Code. We believe that both Jesus and Mary Magdalene were Avatars or Divine Incarnations. He was and is The Lord Christ; She was and is The Lady Christ.

Q) If Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married, did they have children?

A) Jesus and Mary Magdalene had one child together, a son. And just after the crucifixion, the Magdalene adopted a young girl, Sarah, whose parents had been killed. Sarah grew up to be the Nasarean scribe who wrote down the teachings of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. In regard to the son, the Essene scrolls even tell us when he was conceived. Do you remember the New Testament story about the last night in the garden at Gethsemane? That was the last night before Jesus?arrest and subsequent trial. We are told that none of the disciples were able to stay awake with him that night, all being too sleepy. But in the Essene version, there was one who did stay awake with him that night: His wife and co-Messiah, Mary Magdalene. And that is when they conceived their child. They did so in the full knowledge that Jesus was about to be arrested and put to death. They wanted to preserve his seed. And that child of Jesus and Mary Magdalene is known today as The Holy Grail.

Q) You have just dropped quite a bombshell! Was not the Holy Grail supposed to be a goblet? Can you elaborate?

A) We have all heard of The Holy Grail. Most think of it as a goblet that held the blood of Christ shed upon the cross. This goblet was said to hold the bood of Christ and have mystical powers. But consider the following: would not a child of Jesus and the Magdalene be a vessel filled, quite literally, with the blood of Christ? The most ancient stories of the Grail call it by the name, Sangreal, which means Royal Blood. And all the early Grail legends refer to “the Grail Family? In an ancient text called the Perlesvaus, the Grail consists of a changing sequence of images, the first being a crowned king crucified, the second being a child. The Essene scrolls even give us the name of the child of Jesus and Mary Magdalene; his name was Gebiya. And guess what Gebiya means in Hebrew? Goblet!

Q) We know Jesus was crucified, but what became of the rest of the ‘Grail Family? Where did Mary Magdalene take the Grail Child and her adopted daughter?

A) After giving birth to her son, Gebiya, the Magdalene took him and Sarah to France. There is a lot of evidence to support the assertion that the Magdalene went to France with the Grail Child.

Q) In Christianity, they talk about having a living relationship with Jesus. By that they mean that he is not just an historical figure, but a living Being whom can be experienced. Do you feel that way about Mary Magdalene?

A) I believe that both the Lord Christ and the Lady Christ are very real and can be experienced Here and Now. In regard to the Magdalene, her time has come. The great awakening of interest in her will profoundly affect our culture.

Q) You refer to your religion by two words, “Nasarean?and “Essene? Please explain.

A) According to our ancient texts, we are the Nasarean Religion of the Essene Way. The name of our religion is Nasarean. The practice of our religion is The Essene Way. The word Nasarean means Ascension. The way we “ascend?is by practicing the Essene Way of Life. The word ‘Essene?means ‘Healer?or ‘Healing? Thus, the Essene Way is The Healing Way. This ‘healing?refers to body, mind, spirit, and planet.

Q) What is the Essene Order of the Blue Rose?

A) The Order of the Blue Rose was established by Mary Magdalene after the crucifixion of Yahshua (‘Jesus?, to be a special order for only the most faithful followers of the Nasarean Religion of the Essene Way. You see, immediately after the crucifixion, many of the male followers of Yahshua refused to accept a woman ?Mary Magdalene ?as their leader. Mary, the rightful successor to Yahshua, established The Order of the Blue Rose for those whom remained faithful to her. She established the order in Israel shortly after the crucifixion, then escaped to France carrying the baby of her husband and co-Messiah, Yahshua.

Q) Where does the reference to a ‘Blue Rose?come from? Why did Mary Magdalene choose that name for the order?

A) On the night that Yahshua (‘Jesus? and Miriam (‘Mary Magdalene? conceived their baby ?The Holy Grail Child ?he gifted her with her favorite flower: the Blue Rose. The Magdalene wore the Blue Rose in her hair when she conceived the Grail Child. The next morning, Yahshua was arrested and, three days later, crucified. Miriam saved that rose, dried it, and used it in the initiation rituals of the Order. This was appropriate, for, the inner circle of initiates within this Order become members of The Grail Family, and have a special relationship with The Holy Grail Child. The Order of the Blue Rose is the order in place at Essene Garden of Peace, our headquarters, and is the agency responsible for the preservation and publication of The Holy Megillah: The Nasarean Bible of the Essene Way. I serve as High Priest of the order. My wife, Neila, serves as High Priestess of the order. The name Neila was given at birth means, in Sanskrit, Blue Rose. And her ancestry is from the region of France where the Magdalene lived after the crucifixion. Also, many of Neila’s female relatives over the centuries had the words ‘Blue?and ‘Rose?linked to their names. It is entirely possible that Neila’s family is directly related to the Magdalene, or at least were initiates of the ancient order.

Q) How does one become a member of The Order of the Blue Rose?

A) The most important thing is to express an interest in joining. If a person let’s us know that they have an interest, we will send them information on the Order of the Blue Rose and how one may participate. Part Two:

Excerpt from Article by Day on

Mary Magdalene and the Holy Grail

The above touches on what was to be a main theme of Miriam of Magdala’s life: REJECTION BY MEN. Besides the Nasarean Bible, several other ancient manuscripts attributed to Gnostic Christians echo that theme. We will first examine excerpts from those Gnostic texts, then return to the Nasarean Bible for the final word on that theme.

In the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas, Peter declares:

“This life we are living [traveling spiritual teachers] is not for women. Send Mary away.?/i>

In the Gnostic Pistis Sophia, we again hear from Peter on the topic of Mary Magdalene:

And Peter started forward and said unto Jesus, “My Lord, we will not endure this woman, for she taketh the opportunity of speaking from us by discoursing many times.?/i>

We see above that Peter was not comfortable with having a woman in a primary speaking role, especially in regard to spiritual matters. Peter didn’t mind Jesus speaking long discourses, but did not support the Magdalene doing so. Neither was Peter comfortable with the notion of a woman living the life of a traveling spiritual teacher. We must understand that Peter’s opinion was the norm in his day. Ancient Israel was extremely patriarchal. Although the small minority sect of Nasareans had women Priestesses, mainstream Judaism did not. In fact, IT WAS ILLEGAL FOR WOMEN TO STUDY THE SCRIPTURES IN MAINSTREAM JUDAISM! It is also important to realize that Jesus (Yahshua), for his ministry to the non-Nasarean majority of Israel, selected eight Apostles with non-Nasarean backgrounds, and four with Nasarean backgrounds. There were three main divisions within Judaism: the Saducees, the Pharisees, and the Nasarean Essenes. Yahshua selected four representatives from each division of Judaism: four Nasareans, four Saducees, and four Pharisees. Of course, the Saducees and Pharisees he selected were the cream of the crop of their religions: all eight of them were vegetarian and were extremely interested in learning the Nasarean Way. But the hardest part of the Nasarean Way for these former Saducees and Pharisees was to embrace the Divine Feminine and the notion of equality for women. Which is why, after the crucifixion of Yahshua, that doctrine was the first to be watered-down by the former Saducees and Pharisees in the early Christian movement. In fact, that led to the first splintering of the group, with vegetarianism being the cause of the second splintering. We will address that in more detail later in this article. But now let us consider Peter’s anti-Magdalene comments in another Gnostic manuscript, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

Very few verses from the Gnostic Gospel of Mary Magdalene have survived. The few verses that survived are part of the Nag Hammadi Scrolls discovered in Egypt in 1945. There we read:

[After the crucifixion of Jesus] the disciples were gathered. A discple asked Mary Magdalene, ‘We know the Savior loved you more than any other. Tell us the words of the Savior that you know, but we do not know.? Mary answered, ‘What is hidden from you, I will reveal.?And she began to reveal great mysteries? After Mary had spoken, Andrew said: ‘I do not believe that her words are from the Lord. Her teachings are nonsense.?Likewise, Peter said: ‘Are we to believe that she knows more about spiritual things than we do? Are we to believe that the Lord commissioned a woman to take forth his mysteries unto the world? Are we now to turn to her and listen to her as we did the Lord? Did he really prefer her for that role over us??
Then Mary wept and said, ‘My Brother Peter, do you think I made these things up? Do you think I would lie to you about the Lord??Levi came to her defense saying, ‘Peter, you have always been hot tempered. Now you are contending with Mary as though she were the adversary. But if the Lord gave her this role who are you to reject her? It is because he truly knows her that he loved her more than us.?

Before we comment on the fact that Levi came to her defense, let us consider the view of one scholar in regard to Peter’s anti-Magdalene attitude. In his book Bloodline of the Holy Grail,
Laurence Gardner writes:

?Peter had a low opinion of women, and was not prepared to be at the beck and call of a priestess. Paul’s opinion of women was even less flattering, and he strongly objected to their involvement in matters of religion. The two men, therefore, deliberately excluded Mary from any standing in their new movement?

With all this anti-Magdalene sentiment amongst the male disciples, Levi deserves credit for having come to her defense. In the last line quoted above from The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, he said: “It is because he [Jesus] truly knows her that he loved her more than us.?/i> Levi must have been remembering the following words spoken by Jesus before he was crucified, preserved in another Gnostic manuscript called The Gospel of Philip:

“As for Sophia [Greek for ‘Holy Wisdom? ‘Holy Spirit’], she is the Mother of the Angels and the Consort of the Lord, Mary Magdalene. The Lord loved her more than all the others and used to kiss her often on her lips. A disciple asked, ‘Why do you love her in a different manner than you love us??The Savior answered: ‘When a blind man and one who sees are both together in darkness, they are no different from one another. When the light comes, then he who sees will see the light, and the one who is blind will remain in darkness? If one goes down into the water and comes up without having received anything and says ‘I am a Christian? he has borrowed the name at interest. But if he receives the holy spirit, he has the name as a gift? And that is a Great Mystery. Even greater is the Mystery of Marriage; for without it the world would not exist!?

In the above verses, several things are asserted: 1) The ‘Holy Spirit?is the Mother of the Angels and the consort of the Lord, Mary Magdalene. 2) Jesus loved Mary Magdalene in a ‘different manner?than he loved others, often ‘kissing her on her lips? 3) Jesus asserts, in the form of a mystical saying, that only those with eyes that can see the light (advanced initiates) truly understand his relationship with Mary Magdalene. 4) Jesus asserts that those with the eyes to see the light are those who have received the Holy Spirit, and that many who think they have done so actually have not. They have gone through the motions of baptism, but have not actually experienced the mystery of baptism which involves receiving the Holy Spirit. For, if they had, they would certainly know who Mary Magdalene is, since she is the Holy Spirit. 5) His relationship with Mary Magdalene is that of marriage; but not only in the traditional sense, but also the cosmic sense: without the relationship of Jahday and Jahnah the world would not exist.

In another verse from The Gospel of Philip, this teaching of the Holy Spirit being female is again given:

“Some say that Mother Mary conceived of the Holy Spirit. They are in error. For, when did a woman ever conceive of a woman??

In that verse the ‘Mary?referenced is Jesus?Mother. The verse is pointing out that the idea of some Christian’s that Mother Mary conceived (was made pregnant) by the Holy Spirit is wrong, because one WOMAN can not make another WOMAN pregnant! In other words, the Holy Spirit is FEMALE!

In regard to the reference to Mary Magdalene being the consort of the Lord, that idea is again mentioned in another verse from the Gospel of Philip:

“There were three who walked with the Lord at all times: his Mother, her sister, and the Magdalene, whom they called his consort.?

Above, notice that the Magdalene is not simply referred to as his disciple, apostle, or even as his most devoted follower; rather, she is referred to as his consort. I researched that and discovered that the greek word being translated here as consort always implies a romantic relationship and is just as accurately translated by the English word WIFE. And we saw that Jesus himself, when asked about his relationship with the Magdalene, gave a long, mystical response, then summed it up as MARRIAGE.

As Jahday and Jahnah, certainly they are eternal consorts united in COSMIC MARRIAGE. But in the Nasarean Bible, not only are they married in the cosmic sense as Jahday and Jahnah, but even in the human sense as Yahshua (‘Jesus? and Miriam (‘Mary Magdalene?. And that is a very good thing, because, as we will soon see, YAHSHUA AND MIRIAM HAD A CHILD TOGETHER!

In the Nasarean New Testament, Jesus (I am purposely alternating between the use of the names Jesus and Yahshua to condition the reader that they are one and the same; the same is true for my alternate usage of the names Mary Magdalene and Miriam of Magdala) and Mary Magdalene are the couple that were wedded in the gospel story of The Wedding at Cana. You can read that in The Holy Megillah. Herein I wish to note that some scholars have put two and two together and figured out that the wedding at Cana was indeed that of Yahshua and Miriam, even without having access to our scriptues. In her book, The Woman with the Alabaster Jar, Margaret Starbird writes:

“Perhaps this marriage of Cana was one of national importance?namely that of Jesus to Mary Magdalene.?/i>

In Bloodline of the Holy Grail, Laurence Gardner describes an ancient Egyptian cup that legend says was used at the wedding of Jesus and Mary Magdalene:

“During the 1400’s when Rosslyn Chapel was being built, the Grand Helmsman of the Priory de Sion was Rene d’Anjou? It is from Rene D’Anjou that the familiar ‘Cross of Lorraine?derives. The cross ?with its two horizontal bars ?became the lasting symbol of free France, and was the emblem of the French Resistance during World War II. Among Rene’s most prized possessions was a magnificent Egyptian cup of red crystal, which he obtained in Marseilles. It was said to have been used at the wedding of Jesus and Mary Magdalene at Cana?? [boldface added by Day]

Gardner provides interesting evidence that the Catholic Church later deleted all references to Jesus?marriage:

“One of the reasons why there is no mention of Jesus?married status in the New Testament is that the evidence was deliberately removed by Church decreee. This was revealed as recently as 1958, when a manuscript of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople was discovered in a monastery at Mar Saba, east of Jerusalem, by Morton Smith, Professor of Ancient History at Columbia University? Within a book of the works of St Ignatius of Antioch was a transcription of a letter by Bishop Clement of Alexandria (circa AD 150-215), an early Father of the Christian Church. It was addressed to his colleague, Theodore. Also included was an unknown section of the Gospel of Mark. Clement’s letter decreed that some of the original content of Mark was to be suppressed because it did not conform with Church requirements. The letter reads: ‘For even if they should say something true, one who loves the Truth should not, even so, agree with them. For not all true things are the Truth; nor should that truth which seems true to human opinions be preferred to the true Truth ?that of faith.’”

Wow! How is that for theological double-talk! In other words, Bishop Clement, born in 150 AD, having come across an ancient manuscript that would have embarrassed the Church (i.e. an account of the marriage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene) ordered a cover up of the truth in the name of a higher Truth: faith in the doctrines of the Catholic Church! Well, I think I will choose otherwise!

We have seen that Mary Magdalene was not well received by many men, including important Apostles such as Peter. I stated above that this rejection by men led to the first split in the church. I will now describe that split. In describing that split, I will reveal the true meaning of the term THE HOLY GRAIL.

According to the Nasarean Bible, Yahshua and his wife/co-worker Miriam, realizing that he was going to be killed, chose to conceive a child. In fact, according to the Nasarean Bible, this was one of the reasons that Jahday and Jahnah chose to incarnate as human beings: to enter and bless the human genetic stream. One way that they blessed the human genetic stream was by leaving their DNA in it: THEY MADE A BABY! When did they do that? Do you remember the New Testament story about the last night in the garden at Gethsemane? That was the last night before Jesus?arrest and subsequent trial. Jesus is reported to have asked the disciples to stay up and pray with him. But try as they might, none of them could stay awake. They all fell asleep and left him to pray by himself? Well, in the Nasarean Bible, there was one who did stay up with him that night? MARY MAGDALENE. Not with any sort of negative lust, but in PROFOUND LOVE they conceived a child. This child was the very vessel of the blood of Christ? THE GRAIL CHILD!

We have all heard of The Holy Grail. Most of us think of the grail as a cup that held the blood of Christ. Legend tells us that Joseph of Arimathea filled a cup with the blood that Jesus shed upon the cross; that cup, the Holy Grail, held the presence of Christ and had mystical powers. But consider the following: would not a child of Jesus and the Magdalene be a vessel filled with the blood of Christ? Might not that child hold the presence of the Christ? And perhaps that child, the vessel of Christ, would have profound mystical powers. In their book Holy Blood, Holy Grail, researchers Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln write:

“Could the Grail be something more than pure fantasy? Could it actually haveexisted in some sense? Could there really have been such a thing as the Holy Grail? Or something concrete, at any rate, for which the Holy Grail was employed as a symbol??It is generally assumed that the Holy Grail relates in some way to Jesus. According to some traditions it was the cup from which Jesus and his disciples drank at the Last Supper. According to other traditions it was the cup in which Joseph of Arimathea caught Jesus?blood as he hung on the cross. According to other traditions the grail was both of these?
“According to certain accounts the Grail was brought by Joseph of Arimathea to England? According to other accounts it was brought by the Magdalen to France. As early as the fourth century legends described the Magdalen fleeing the Holy Land and being set ashore near Marseilles [a city in France] ?where, for that matter, her reputed relics are still venerated. According to medieval legends she carried with her to Marseilles the Holy Grail.
“But the early legends say that the Magdalen brought the Grail into France, not a cup. In other words, the simple association of Grail and Cup was a relatively late development? In these original sources the Grail is something much more than a cup.
“… the Grail in the Perlesvaus [an ancient text] consists of a changing sequence of images or visions. The first of these is a crowned king crucified. The second is a child.?

Above we see that the Holy Grail was originally not identified as a cup; that was a later legend. Originally the Holy Grail was a vessel of the bloodline of Christ, brought to France by Mary Magdalene. We read in Gardner’s Bloodline of the Holy Grail:

“The Grail has been symbolized by many things? Either way, it has a genuine purpose, and a heritage that prevails with the Grail Family? Its powers include those of rejuvenation, knowledge and provision; just as Jesus was a healer, teacher and provider, so too is the Grail? The Grail legacy is a relic of early Judaic Christianity, but the Christian Church has never recognized the fact. Despite a background that is both romantic and sacred, Grail lore remains an unproclaimed heresy? Moreover, the Roman Church has openly condemned the Grail because of its strong female associations? To a far greater extent, though, the Church’s reluctance to accept Grail tradition derived from the Grail Family’s specifically defined Messianic lineage?
“Medieval tradition related that Joseph of Arimathea brought the Holy Grail to Britain. Even earlier European lore told how Mary Magdalene originally brought the Sangreal [another term for Grail] into Provence [France]?
“In the original Grail legends there were constant references to the Grail Family, the Grail dynasty, and the custodians (or guardians) of the Grail? Cups and stones aside, the importance of the Grail exists in its definition as the San Greal = San Graal = Saint Grail = Holy Grail. More correctly it was the Sang Real ?the Blood Royal, carried by the uterine Chalice of Mary Magdalene?
“The Holy Grail became likened to a vessel because it was said to carry the sacred blood of Jesus. But it was the Chalice (V) of Mary Magdalene which carried the Sangreal in utero. It was she who inspired the Dompna (Great Lady) of the Troubadours, who were so callously treated by the Inquisition ?and they called her the ‘Grail of the World? In Parzival, it is said of the Grail Queen that ‘she bore?the perfection of earthly paradise, both roots and branches.?

We see above that both the Magdalene and her child were referred to as the Holy Grail. She was the ‘Grail Queen?because she carried the Sangreal [Sacred Blood] within the chalice of her womb (the womb is shaped like a chalice: V). Her child was also the Holy Grail because the Sacred Blood of Christ flowed within the veins of the child of Yahshua and Miriam. And the reference to the Grail Child as “the perfection of earthly paradise, both roots and branches?/i>, seems a declaration that this child was a perfected human being, an embodiment of all seven root forces and all seven branch forces of the Essene Tree of Life. (The Essene Tree of Life is described in The Holy Megillah.)

In the article at hand, I want to call attention to the above references to the Magdalene fleeing Israel after the crucifixion and going to France. The assertion of the Nasarean Bible that the Magdalene was a black woman born in Ethiopia and that she fled Israel for France receives support in various artworks and monuments in France dedicated to THE BLACK MADONNA.

What is The Black Madonna? In first century France a secret sect devoted to Mary Magdalene arose. That sect venerated both Yahshua and the Magdalene. In fact, this secret sect spread to other parts of Europe, especially England where many inscriptions of their names are found and linked with the legend of the Grail. Gardner writes:

“The banner bore the names Jhesus-Maria, the same as on the sacred stone at the Glastonbury Chapel (Jesus-Maria), and as repeated?in the Rosslyn-Hay manuscript (Jhesus-Maria), and as etched at Melrose Abbey (Jhesus-Mari) ?the names which at all times relate to the wedding at Cana and the perpetual Bloodline of the Holy Grail.?

Starting in first century France and then spreading into other parts of Europe, shrines were dedicated to The Black Madonna. Although the Catholic Church later painted some of these statues white and said they were supposed to represent the Mother Mary, they were actually representations of the black (Ethiopian) wife of Yahshua: Mary Magdalene. We read in Bloodline of the Holy Grail:

“It is also a fact that in parallel with the early reverence for Mary Magdalene, a cult [that word here simply means mysterious sect] known as that of the ‘Black Madonna?emanated from Ferrieres in AD 44. Among the many Black Madonna representations that still exist, one of the finest statues is displayed at Verviers, Liege: she is totally black, with a golden scepter and crown, surmounted by Sophia’s halo of stars. Her infant child also wears a golden crown of royalty?
“Some 450 representations have now been discovered worldwide? The image of the Black Madonna and her child has presented a constant dilemma for the Church [the Catholic and other orthodox churches] ?particularly those statues at notable churches and shrines in continental Europe. In some cases they are black all over, but many have only black faces, hands and feet. It is not a question of discoloration, as some disconcerted clerics have suggested. A few have been overpainted in pale flesh tones to conform with the standard Madonna representation; some have simply been removed from the public gaze altogether?
“The Black Madonna is thus also representative of the Magdalene who, according to the Alexandrian doctrine, ‘transmitted the true secret of Jesus? The long-standing Magdalene cult was in fact particularly associated with Black Madonna locations? Sophia [ie Holy Spirit of Divine Feminine Wisdom] was held to be incarnate as the Holy Spirit in Queen Mary Magdalene?
“The most active Magdalene cult was eventually based at Rennes-le-Chateau in the Languedoc region. Elsewhere in France there were many shrines set up to Ste Marie de Madeleine [French for Saint Mary Magdalene]. These included her burial place at St Maximus, where her sepulcher and alabastor tomb were guarded by Cassiante monks from the early 400’s.?

An ancient account of Mary Magdalene and her entourage arriving in France from Israel by sea is preserved in Raban Maar’s The Life of Mary Magdalene:

“Favoured by an easterly wind they traveled on across the [Mediterranean] Sea? Then, happily changing course?they came to the city of Marseilles in the?province of Vienne, where the River Rhone meets the coast.?

The journey of Mary Magdalene and her companions to France is commemorated in various forms of early French art, including song; Gardner writes:

“The libraries of Paris contain a number of ancient manuscripts even older than Maar’s, some of which bear witness to the same period of Mary’s life. Her mission in Provence [a location in France] is specifically mentioned in a hymn of the 600’s?? “… near the present main nave is the remains of a sculpture showing [Mary and her companions] at sea??
“The most important example?is perhaps that which has been exhibited at the 9th century church of Les Saintes Maries: a painting by Henri de Guadermaris. It depicts?Mary’s arrival in a boat off the coast of Provence? Another famous picture on similar lines is The Sea Voyage by Lukas Moser.

Clearly, the fact that Mary Magdalene and her ‘Grail Child?arrived in France by boat was commemorated by the people of France long before the Catholic Church arrived in France and attempted to cover it up. After the cover-up began, some unknown protester apparently attempted to remind the people of the truth. Gardner reports:

“In 633 a mysterious little boat sailed into the harbour of Boulogne-sur-Mer in Northern France. There was no one aboard, just a 3-foot statuette of the Black Madonna and child, together with a copy of the Gospels in Syriac. Wherever the boat had come from, it caused quite a stir on its arrival. The strange Madonna known as Our Lady of the Holy Blood ?became the insignia of the cathedral of Notre Dame, an object of considerable veneration until it was destroyed??

A cave in France where Mary Magdalene often went to meditate (its called Mary’s Cave of Solitude) became a venerated spot. It is located at La Sainte Baume. She is said to have lived near that cave for many years. It is said that she died in 63 AD in Aix-en-Provence. However, Nasarean sources indicate that she died on a missionary trip outside of France. It is entirely possible that, having been killed outside of France, her remains may have been brought back to France.

Although the majority of humanity rejected the Magdalene, a small group of disciples accepted her. It seems that she was better received in France than in Israel. France had an ancient tradition -- albeit Pagan -- of believing in a Goddess and, significantly, the people were familiar with Pagan priestesses and were not so startled by a female spiritual teacher. But once the Catholic Church arrived in France, they reinterpreted the Magdalene legends to fit Catholic dogma, even attempting to paint her face white! Catholic dogma has no room for a wife and child of Jesus Christ! In fact, in order to discredit the Magdalene, the Catholic Church branded her a ‘reformed prostitute? That was not hard to do since mainstream Judaism had already labeled all Nasarean Priestesses as harlots. The primary meaning of the Hebrew word Qedeshah is holy woman. The Nasareans used that word to refer their Priestesses. But the sacrificial cult was so patriarchal ?they made it illegal for women to even read the scriptures ?they branded any woman who dared call herself a Qedeshah a harlot. In fact, over time, the word Qedeshah actually took on the secondary meaning of prostitute. Today, if you look that word up in Strong’s Bible Concordance, one of the listed meanings is Temple Prostitute, even though it is simply the Hebrew word for Holy (Qedesh) with the feminine ending (ah) attached.

In regard to the seven demons that the New Testament reports Jesus cast out of Mary Magdalene, the Nasarean scriptures report that he cast them off of her. In the Nasarean account, the Magdalene was jumped by seven men possessed by demons who tried to rape and harm her. Jesus came to her defense, throwing the men off of her. Thus we see how with one little twist of a word ?replacing the word off with the word out ?the false scribes made it sound like Mary was full of demons!

The Catholic Church discovered that the belief in the divine feminine was so strong in some of the Pagan lands they conquered that they needed to provide some sort of replacement for the Pagan Goddesses. Thus they turned the Mother of Jesus ?Mother Mary ?into an object of devotion. There were two reasons: 1) They could provide a feminine figure to be worshipped without having to acknowledge the existence of any Goddess. (Thus, God and the entire Trinity could remain exclusively male.) 2) By shifting the devotional focus away from the Magdalene toward Mother Mary they could better hide the fact that Jesus had a wife who was a Priestess. The Catholic Church forbids women to enter the priesthood; thus, if it were known that Jesus?wife was a Nasarean priestess, it would be hard to justify their anti-priestess policy. The anti-priestess attitude of the Catholic Church stems from the fact that the true founder of Catholicism is not Jesus but THE APOSTLE PAUL.

When Mary Magdalene was rejected by most of Jesus?followers after the crucifixion, she and some who remained loyal escaped Judaea for France. Why did she leave? The Roman government and Jewish officials wanted to kill her, and she wanted her unborn baby to survive. With her out of the way, Peter founded a Jewish form of Christianity that preserved the vegetarian teachings of Jesus but dumped the Divine Feminine aspect. Peter, having been a convert from patriarchal mainstream Judaism, believed he was doing the right thing. He felt that there was no way in the world that the people of Israel were going to accept a female Messiah. In the Clementina (an Ebionite text) he even acknowledges having written his own version of the gospel (in an attached letter addressed to James), and describes his bias against the feminine principle. Twenty years later the Apostle Paul led a schism off of Peter’s church and founded his own version of Christianity. Like Peter, Paul wanted nothing to do with the Divine Feminine. But unlike Peter, PAUL ALSO THREW OUT VEGETARIANISM. It was Paul’s religion ?which I call Paulianity ?that evolved into the Roman Catholic Church and gave birth to all of mainstream Christianity. In the fourth century, the Pauline Roman Church exterminated most of the surviving members of Peter’s vegetarian (but anti-feminine) Ebionite Christianity. The much smaller Nasarean Church in Israel had already been mostly exterminated by mainstream Judaism. The Nasarean Church in France, the product of the missionary activities of Mary Magdalene, was mostly exterminated by the Catholic Church. Both in Israel and France, as well as a few other countries, Nasarean Christianity has survived only as an underground religion, with secret meeting places and secret scriptures.

While some might conclude that Yahshua erred in selecting Peter as an apostle, there is another possibility. Perhaps Yahshua knew that most of Israel was not yet ready to accept the Goddess. Certainly he was familiar with the prophecies in the Nasarean ‘Old Testament?that declared that the Lady Christ would be rejected in her first coming. Thus, the selection of Peter might have been quite intentional: he may have been the perfect personality type to take a patriarchal form of Christianity to the people of Israel. Likewise, even though Paul seems to have abandoned so much of the teachings of Yahshua, he did succeed in spreading a form of Christianity around the world that the world was ready for at that time. In doing so, Paul succeeded in making Jesus the most well known person to ever walk on planet earth. Thus, the world is now very interested in anything that has to do with Jesus. Thus the world is well prepared for the next phase?the Second Coming?the dispensation of the Lord AND THE LADY.
